Good to Know

Frequently asked questions.

What does a Green Guides wine tour include?

Every tour includes a private, bilingual local guide, visits to one or more family-owned or organic wineries with tastings, and full coordination of transport and logistics. Full-day experiences also include a guided introduction to Sitges. Lunch can be reserved at a local restaurant or winery at an additional cost.

How many people are in a group?

Tours are private and typically capped at six to eight guests, keeping the pace relaxed and giving everyone real time with the winemakers.

What languages are the tours offered in?

English, German, and Spanish.

Is transportation included?

Yes — private transport throughout the day is included, with pickup coordinated from a flexible start location in the Penedès or greater Barcelona area.

What's the best time of year to visit?

Spring (April–June) and early autumn (September–October) offer the mildest weather and the most scenic vineyards. Summer is warm and lively; winter is quiet, with bare vines and clear mountain views.

Do I need to be a wine expert to enjoy this?

Not at all — tours are designed for curious travelers of any experience level, with storytelling rather than technical jargon.

What's the difference between Penedès and Priorat wine?

Penedès is Catalonia's largest and most varied wine region, best known as the home of Cava and lighter, coastal-influenced whites. Priorat, about an hour further inland, is a small, dramatic region of steep slate-soil hillsides producing some of Spain's most powerful, sought-after red wines. Visiting both shows two very different sides of Catalan wine.
